Thing One
1) So far, how have you been using Web 2.0? Have you created any content for Web 2.0? Are you active on social media (besides facebook)?
I am so far behind the curve, I am not even sure what Web 2.0 is supposed to mean. Isn't it enough to know how to navigate the Inter-webs Despite this, I mess around with Google technologies and Apps all the time. They are on my phone, on my TV, on my Chrome browser. I am ready for them to take over the world, streamline everything, simplify, and then let me share my uploaded life on the facebook. I have made somewhat of an Internet presence trying to stay current. I created a website for my ex's business, and I have set up Google sites for classes. When my 14 year old daughter Googled my name, stuff popped up - sites I made and stuff I wrote - it made me feel strangely vulnerable.
2) What interests you about Web 2.0--what would you like to learn about?
I would like to learn how to control what actually ends up in the public sphere. I would like to have all my stuff backed up in a cloud somewhere, but I need to learn how to do this in an effective and organized manner. I like the idea of a world wide dialogue, but I am a little weirded out by the lack of privacy.
